Reservation:Out of sixty eight posts, seven posts are reserved for Scheduled Castes candidates, five posts are reserved for Scheduled Tribes candidates. Of the sixty eight posts, three posts are reserved for Physically Handicapped persons [viz. one post for persons with disability of Hearing Impairment (Partially Deaf) and two posts for persons with disability of Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor disability / Cerebral Palsy with One Arm affected(OA) or One Leg affected(OL)] belonging to any community. The posts are also suitable for persons with disabilities viz. Hearing Impairment (Partially Deaf) or Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor disability / Cerebral Palsy with One Arm affected(OA) or One Leg affected(OL).

QUALIFICATIONS : ESSENTIAL : EDUCATIONAL : Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University.

DUTIES: A senior Group-‘B’ (Gazetted) post having duties of managerial nature. A JWM is required to work as a Head of Section/Workshop/Office or a Group in the Workshop/Section/Office and be fully responsible for proper working of the group allotted to him. For these duties and responsibilities, he is to report to Divisional Officer who is a Group-’A’ Officer.

Test : A Written Objective Type Test with multiple choices answer will be conducted and followed by Interview for selection of Candidates to the posts of Junior Works Manager (Mechanical). The written test will be conducted on 9th January, 2011 in the Forenoon Session. SCHEME AND SYLLABUS FOR

THE TEST : SCHEME : The test will be of two hours’ duration and the medium of the question paper will be English only. The test will be an objective type with multiple choices of answer and will carry a maximum of 100 marks. There will be a penalty for wrong answers. Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question. The level of the question paper will be of the BE programme of Indian Universities. SYLLABUS : The syllabus of the Test shall cover following major topics : Statics and Dynamics, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines, Machine Design, Mechanics of Solids, Production Technology, Manufacturing Science including machine Tools, Metrology, Industrial Engineering, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Material Science, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

JUNIOR OPERATIVE TRAINEES in NALCO

JUNIOR OPERATIVE TRAINEES in the trades mentioned below {Out of 240 posts 08 posts are reserved for PWD-VH/HH with minimum 40% disability & 24 posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen as against horizontal reservation (Unreserved – 135, SC – 39, ST – 55 &OBC – 11)}.

Motor Mechanic – The Candidate should have passed HSC with ITI/NCTVT and
should possess apprenticeship certificate in Motor Mechanic/ Diesel Mechanic Trade.
Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License is desirable.
(II)
Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM – The Candidate should have passed
HSC with ITI/NCTVT and should possess apprenticeship certificate in Motor
Mechanic/ Tractor Mechanic/ Diesel Mechanic Trade. Should have Valid Heavy
Vehicle Driving License. Valid First-Aid Certificate is desirable.
(III) Fitter The candidate should have passed HSC with ITI/NCTVT and should possess
apprenticeship certificate in Fitter Trade. Boiler attendant competency certificate is
desirable.
(IV) Electrician The candidate should have passed HSC with ITI/NCTVT and should
possess apprenticeship certificate in Electrical Trade.
(V)
Instrumentation The candidate should have passed HSC with ITI/NCTVT and
should possess apprenticeship certificate in Instrumentation Trade.
(VI) Electronics – The Candidate should have passed HSC with ITI/NCTVT and should
possess apprenticeship certificate in Electronics Trade.
(VII) Survey-Cum-Drafting The candidate should have passed HSC with ITI/NCTVT
and should possess apprenticeship certificate in survey Trade. Surveyor’s certificate of
competency(R) from DGMS is desirable. Working experience in Total Station, Auto
CAD or surpac survey software will be an added advantage.
Maximum Age Limit & Emoluments:
Maximum 27 years for GEN category, 30 years for OBC category, 32 years for SC &
ST category, 37 years for PH-GEN category, 40 years for PH-OBC, 42 years for PH-
ST & PH – SC category as on 1
st
September, 2010 after relaxation. Further relaxation
in age to the extent of the period of training is also given for apprenticeship.
Relaxation in age to Ex-service men is as per Govt. guideline.
